been tracking ibibo since jan’07. as per my observation, ibibo’s most notable failure was promoting copy-paste(CP). during initial days ibibo mostly promoted CP crowd. this CP crowd and their continued dominance had a bad legacy, as they left too much junk in ibibo. however ibibo changed for good later. still it lacks depth and has to scale up on the quality front.
seems ibibo is promoting the site thru TV spots thesedays. not sure whether their balti concept is a successful formula, because alexa gives a different picture. s.india with more IT hubs may not relate well with ‘balti’, an alien word for them.
anyways, as an early member of ibibo (though am not active there these days), i wish them all the best for their new initiatives.
